Bingo and Cawl Evening

West Wales area held a bingo and cawl event on 1 March 2019

Annette Davies was our host (and cook!) for a fun night at the Pavilion Hall in Pencader.  Not only is she a very supportive member of the BDS but also a Pencader parish councillor so she was operating under two hats with the event being a social fundraiser shared between the BDS Area 36 and local charity Cylch Meithrin Pencader, which is a group for young children in the village.

Annette provided and made the cawl and acted as bingo caller, and very good at it she was too.  With plenty of chocolate prizes on offer and a final cash prize, the spoils were shared between the locals and the BDS members although Toby Jackson, one of our AACs seemed to be on a lucky streak winning not only his share of chocolate but also the cash prize.  Sue Jackson, our treasurer also won despite having a bit of a problem at the beginning with the colour of the cards in play.  Mac and Jenny Humphries ended up with a chocolate bunny fest and an egg too!

Most importantly a total of £160 was raised and split between the BDS and Cylch Meithrin Pencader with the BDS picking up the hire of the hall due to our rather low numbers compared to the village delegate.  Thank you all for attending = this will go in the calendar again for next winter.
